Funding is provided through FEMA's SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response)  Program focused on improving recruitment, retention, and response of volunteer firefighters and EMS crews.

AWARD:   Up to $1500.00 per applicant is available annually while the scholarship program is funded.  Checks will be made payable to the award recipient's college or university.  Awards will be reimbursed upon successful completion of training or semester.
DEADLINE: Completed applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. (MST), on September 1, 2018, for fall semester 2018 consideration.  Scholarship awards will be disbursed twice each year to coincide with Spring and Fall college semesters.  A new application must be completed for each semester/award applied for, even if you have already received a scholarship award in the past. 

Selection of the scholarship recipients will be made by the SAFER Scholarship Committee.  A personal interview may be necessary. 

All applicants will be notified of award results.
